Note that Statue Magazine is the trading name of Statue Ltd (ID: 15676329) and the names are used in reference to the other.

Acceptance of any contribution, gift or grant is at the discretion of the Statue Magazine. The Statue Magazine will not accept any gift unless it can be used or expended consistently with the purpose and mission of the Statue Magazine.

No irrevocable gift, whether outright or life-income in character, will be accepted if under any reasonable set of circumstances the gift would jeopardise the donor’s financial security.

The Statue Magazine will refrain from providing advice about the tax or other treatment of gifts and will encourage donors to seek guidance from their own professional advisers to assist them in the process of making their donation.

The Statue Magazine will accept donations of cash or publicly traded securities. Gifts of in-kind services will be accepted at the discretion of the Statue Magazine.

Certain other gifts, real property, personal property, in-kind gifts, non-liquid securities, and contributions whose sources are not transparent or whose use is restricted in some manner, must be reviewed prior to acceptance due to the special obligations raised or liabilities they may pose for Statue Magazine.

The Statue Magazine will provide acknowledgements to donors meeting tax requirements for property received by the charity as a gift. However, except for gifts of cash and publicly traded securities, no value shall be ascribed to any receipt or other form of substantiation of a gift received by Statue Magazine.

The Statue Magazine will respect the intent of the donor relating to gifts for restricted purposes and those relating to the desire to remain anonymous. With respect to anonymous gifts, the Statue Magazine will restrict information about the donor to only those staff members with a need to know.

The Statue Magazine will not compensate, whether through commissions, finders’ fees, or other means, any third party for directing a gift or a donor to the Statue Magazine.

We offer no returns or refunds due to the nature of our goods.

Rights relating to payment and publication of writers in our magazine:

Upon payment we acquire the following rights:

• First World Serial Rights
• First World Electronic Rights
• Non-Exclusive World Audio Rights
• Non-Exclusive World Anthology Reprint Rights

By accepting our payment, you grant us the rights to publish your story on the Statue Magazine website and in our ebooks. Additionally, we reserve the right to produce an audio podcast of your story if selected for a podcast, and the right to include it in any anthology of stories for distribution worldwide.

This means that you agree not to publish the story as a first-run or new story elsewhere, whether in print or online or as audio, for a period of 180 days following its publication or podcasting by us. After this period, you retain the right to have the story reprinted online, in a reprint magazine, or in a reprint anthology, such as those found in various annual collections. You may also resell non-exclusive audio rights, such as to fiction podcasts.

Furthermore, we kindly request permission to retain the story in our online archives indefinitely after the initial 180-day period.
